We provided diagnostic testing on women of all heights, weights, body sizes, including women with disabilities. Our Mammography Department was designed with you in mind that’s why our department is staffed entirely by women who are specially trained to answer your breast health questions. If you are over 40 years old, we suggest that you schedule a mammogram every year. Call us at (334) 383-2327 to learn more.

Urodynamics

Urodynamics is a new procedure that LV Stabler Memorial Hospital offers to women with various forms of urinary incontinence. It is a simple procedure that measures pressure in the bladder. From this diagnostic test, our doctors are able to determine the best treatment option for you. You don’t have to live with incontinence! It can be treated with medications, Kegel exercises, and/or surgical procedures. Call Dr. Thomas to learn more about this simple procedure.

Bone Density Testing

Osteoporosis is a disease that affects mostly women over the age of 65. Those at the greatest risk for osteoporosis are women who have had:
  • hormone replacement therapy for a number of years
  • postmenopausal women who have a bone fracture
  • women younger than 65 with any risk factors for osteoporotic fracture including:
    • family history of the disease
    • diet low in calcium
    • a sedentary lifestyle
    • history of smoking or heavy drinking
Osteoporosis robs bones of their strength and density making your risk for bone fractures greater. LVS provides bone mineral density tests with its modern DPX Bone Densitometer. This painless bone scan can detect even minute traces of bone loss. If you think you could be at risk for osteoporosis, ask your healthcare professional to schedule your bone densitometry appointment or call LVS’ Radiology Department at (334) 383-2327 for more information about this test before a fracture occurs.

Offering a variety of outstanding and comprehensive Women’s Services is a priority at LV Stabler Memorial Hospital.
